Dust Motorcycles BMW R80 Scrambler TRI-BEEMER

The idea behind the build was to emulate the hybrid practice that produced such bikes as the triton and norvin
The Tri-beemers style is reminiscent of the wonderful old British scramblers of the 60's- Bikes like the BSA goldstars and the Triumphs T's..
(with just a splash of Mc Queen desert sled cool thrown in!)

This is a great bike for anyone who's looking for more than just a road ride or mud slinger.. It's cool enough to hit the streets with an open faced lid and shades (great for classic bike nights- real conversation puller)... Fantastic for greenlaning and event trail blazing.
....and if the mood takes,  could even be bagged up and ridden to Africa!

The Bike (whilst retaining some wonderful patina) has undergone extensive customisation Including the multi functional motogadget system.
This system includes M-Unit, RFID keyless ignition, M-blaze pin indicators M-switch mini handlebar controls and the Motogadget tiny speedo.

The frame and swing arm have been powder coated black, flatted then painted to give it an authentic period look
(the base powder offering the best protection). It also has a fully height adjustable rear loop.

The engine has been fully refreshed and serviced- New cables... bearings/seals fluids as appropriate and the carbs have been fully rebuilt.

The seat is custom made with Italian leather (...really comfortable)   The exhaust is hand made (sounds great- not too offensive) and the pipe shield with it's aluminium reflective layer keeps the heat away.

The fuel tank is an original Triumph T140 UK export and has been painted alloy, re-lined with new taps and cap
Mudguards, number boards and side panels are alloy.. leave as is or number up and make your own mark!

Handlebars are period Greeves with tomaselli levers, beston grips and original BSA throttle.

The wheels are the desirable spoke- the front has twin disc/brembos with braided hose and the tyres are Mitas trail

It has a trail style rear light and a small inset bates lamp at the front..
(..has a rather nice number number plate OCN..)

It's a seriously comfortable ride- with great fun factor!

The original donor was an excellent low mileage example- having covered only 18 miles in the last 20 yrs.
The Triumph t140 fuel tank is 3 gl- the bike weighs 178kg.. so with around 45 mpg it's good for 120+ miles before hitting the fuel station.

  1. Hi, did you have to modify the tank or the frame for them to mount. Could you share some pictures on the modification please
